May AlBader
Clinical Psychologist

I am passionate about advancing my understanding of psychology and therapeutic interventions for diverse demographic age groups, from youths to adults. My focus is on the targeted exploration of mental health concerns and methods of overcoming life stressors.
During my clinical placement, I utilized behavioral activation, mindfulness grounding techniques, and cognitive reframing—core components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I have integrated mindfulness strategies into my practice, using art therapy and sensory stimulation to foster presence and engagement. My experience includes implementing mindfulness practices such as breathing exercises, body scan techniques, and thought training with patients.
Additionally, I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to support individuals in developing distress tolerance and emotional regulation. I focus on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for both adults and youths, emphasizing personalized goal attainment and helping individuals navigate their psychological challenges effectively.
I also have experience providing workshops on psychoeducational topics to educators, students, and home care nurses. These workshops are designed not only to educate individuals about mental health concerns and practical skills for supporting others through life stressors, but also to raise awareness of the importance of mental health. My goal is to empower clients of all age groups with the tools to thrive.
